S.P.C (Statistical Process Control) ... Quality for our Customers
In a continued effort to provide quality products, Doral Steel operates in accordance with industry standards. We believe that an ongoing, constantly monitored Quality Control Program is critical to the successful operation of our plant.
Our S.P.C Policies and Procedures Manual supports this philosophy. The S.P.C. program at Doral is more then just a policy manual... it consists of Quality Teams of employees from each department who meet weekly to monitor all quality systems. At Doral we are striving to be the best! Test Procedures Second to None! Although all mills provide certification with their steel, we at Doral Steel continue to test our inventory to ensure perfection for our customers. Our state-of-the-art Testing Laboratory includes the following:
- SPECTROMETER - this equipment test the chemical make up of the steel.
- ROCKWELL - coupons from each coil in the plant are tested for hardness.
- OLSON - a device for testing ductility of steel.
- TENSILE - to determine the yield, tensile and and elongation of the steel.
- COATING THICKNESS TESTER - for customers requiring a certain ounce/square foot of coating on their product, we can test coating weight as well.
The ability to offer the above mentioned testing procedures makes Doral unique among Steel Service Centers.
